FL Highwaymen John Maynor - Oil on Masonite
23.25” X 19.5” (with frame)
$2,600
John Maynor (1948-2016) was part of the prestigious group of Florida Highwaymen artists. Livingston Roberts and Sam Newton were Maynor’s most influential teachers and they taught him their style of “fast painting.” Maynor caught on quickly and was soon selling his work on the road with Hair and noted Highwaymen salesman and artist Al Black. He went on to become a sign painter and commercial art painter in his adult life, so there are less Maynor Highwaymen paintings. He was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame in 2004.
