Charles Paul Gruppe was a Canadian-born, American painter who lived in the Netherlands for years, painted there and acted as a dealer for many Dutch artists in the United States. Later Gruppe moved back to the U.S. and owned a home in Manhattan. His work is included in many public museum collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts amongst others.
