Lydia Fabian (1857 - 1947) is known for still life, landscape and architecture painting and photography. This piece is signed by hand in red paint to the lower right and is encompassed by an ornate gilt wood frame. Fabian began her artistic study in the New York Metropolitan Art School and studied at the Art Students League.the National Academy of Design, plus another ten schools of various statures were available in New York by the late 1870s. She was an accomplished artist and exhibited frequently throughout the mid-west.
